Yerba mate is naturally stimulating, containing caffeine and theobromine, a blend of alkaloids that allow a slow ingestion of caffeine. You get sustained energy without the big high and the big crash associated with coffee. In addition, yerba mate has many health benefits, being even more antioxidant than green tea. Learn more.
Instead of a morning coffee, after lunch to avoid the digesting crash, before a night out… and the next morning!
Reb M is a zero-calorie and zero-glycemic sweetener. We use fermented cane sugar juice to naturally produce Reb M. It’s a compound found in many plants, but mostly known for its presence in stevia. Reb M has strong sweetening capabilities, but doesn’t have that unpleasant stevia aftertaste. Sugarcane also uses much less land space and water resources than stevia to produce the same amount of product. That’s why we’ve decided to use fermented sugarcane in our Ginger ZERO recipe.
No! Even if Mate Libre contains some caffeine, the product is not considered an energy drink, since its caffeine level is moderate with 50mg per can. We created Mate Libre with the desire to offer a drink with all the stimulating benefits of yerba mate, but without being an energy drink overdosed in caffeine. A can of Mate Libre is about the equivalent of an espresso, but the energizing effect will be better controlled and sustained.
No! Mate Libre is not a fermented product. No vinegar taste. And much more energizing than a Kombucha! Kombucha is made from an infusion of tea and sometimes even yerba mate. Fermentation of the kombucha mushroom will reduce the caffeine content of the infusion by around 70%.
